I was born in Manchester England. At the age of 5 my mother brought three children and a pram back to Northern Ireland where both parents were originally from. I lived through the height of what would be known as “The Troubles.” As a child I hid behind a book as much as possible to get free from the fear and to find beauty in what was a bleak and angry world. I have one brother and one sister. I am the eldest sibling. They both still live in Northern Ireland and I worry about them all the time….

My first husband was an Englishman who took me travelling to places I had only dreamed of. When my marriage broke up I moved to the Cayman Islands and worked my first job there selling hot dogs to tourists- the best job I ever had. I was able to meet people from all over the world and then sit under an umbrella and share my experiences with friends and family back home. So the writing began….

I met Kerry, my now second husband and love of my life in Cayman. We eventually moved to Miami where we got married. We lived there for two years after which we then moved to Texas to be near Kerry’s parents.

Texas was the landing place where my stories started to bubble to the surface. I realized that all of the experiences and words that were in my head were ready to come out and I started putting them on paper.

I am a passionate artist. I create in all mediums. I literally color my life with paint but also with experiences. I love to dance, cook, and socialize. Music is a great motivator, I can listen to all kinds from Heavy Metal to Classic I can even hear the raw beauty in Rap, believing that Rap is the street version of poetry.

I strongly believe in the power of the word. I don’t think people realize how much energy they attach to the spoken and written word and what a weapon they wield.
